Essential Functions
Under general direction of the Electronic Equipment Installer/Repairer Lead Workers, performs a variety of skilled tasks related to the installation of electronic equipment in Agency vehicles:
- Installs a variety of electronic equipment in vehicles as assigned by supervisor (radios, siren, red light, trailer hitches, etc.)
- Determines and obtains necessary equipment, tools, and supplies (cable, drill, fuse box, screws, etc.)
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies
Prepares vehicle for installation:
- Removes floor trim, drills holes, mounts fuse box, etc.
- Connects cable to all installed parts
- Tests equipment to make sure it works properly
- Replaces floor trim
Maintains clean work area after installations:
- Sweeps floors
- Cleans workbench
- Performs minor painting, etc. when needed
- Cleans restrooms
- Empty garbage containers
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of highschool or technical school.
- One (1) year of working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment
- One (1) year of working knowledge of the principles of electronics
- One (1) year of elementary knowledge of power tools normally associated with wood and metal work
- One (1) year of experience reading wiring diagrams
- One (1) year of experience using tools and test equipment of the trade

Conservation Police Officers are vested with full state-wide police authority and are trained to the highest standards for law enforcement professionals in Illinois.
In addition to these enforcement responsibilities, Conservation Police Officers serve as an important link between the Department and its various constituencies (civic groups, sportsmen's groups, sport shows, etc.).
These officers are called upon to assist outside agencies in emergency situations or rescue operations.They participate in the instruction of conservation related statutes to outside agencies, law enforcement organizations, or educational institutions upon request.
