Job Description:

OBJECTIVE AND RANGE

To offer HR and safety assistance to designated locations and supervisors, together with the HR Manager or Director. Responsibilities may vary by location and time, based on the scale, alignment, and requirements of the supported group, but the HR Representative is anticipated to contribute in all areas listed below.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with TA to enhance quality of hires and time to hire. Trains and advises supervisors in interview techniques and selection decisions.
  • Conducts onboarding processes for designated locations, collaborating with supervisors and TA to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Acts as the primary contact for staff and supervisor inquiries regarding benefits and wellness programs. This includes communicating program details, addressing common queries, escalating complex issues, and supporting in enrollment processes.
  • Manages district drug testing initiatives, including pre-employment, post-accident, and random tests.
  • Acts as the main contact for routine Payroll and HRIS systems queries, including updates and assisting in new staff training.
  • Supports location management in implementing company and local regulations. Collaborates on corrective action decisions and coaches supervisors on leveraging employees effectively.
  • Maintains positive employee relations, serves as the local contact for staff communications, and organizes social events. Conducts various employee relations activities in coordination with the HR supervisor.
  • Required to have strong knowledge of employment regulations, HR best practices, and operational understanding of supported business units.
  • Aids Safety staff in safety initiatives, assists with new claims, investigates incidents, and reports on workers' compensation performance.
  • Conducts safety audits, ensures compliance with safety training, and supports accident investigations and post-accident tests.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, safety, or related field
  • Three or more years of relevant experience
  • Or equivalent combination of experience and education

SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations
  • Preferred HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CRP)
  • Ability to travel up to 20% overnight and drive to active job sites as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not involve supervisory duties
