JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Human Resources is an essential piece of the Hotel EMC2 team and supports the Human Resource function by providing a welcoming environment for all associates.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the VP of Human of Human Resources, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supports the Hotel and Human Resources department with duties and functions; including recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training, termination process and retention of associates.
  • Becomes confident in company personnel policies and leads by example, while being able to explain and support managers in execution and consistency of policies
  • Reviews and administers employment status changes through paperwork and HRIS system pay rates, position status and changes, new hires, terminations etc., in ADP Workforce
  • Manages and maintains the Workers Comp process.
  • Complies with federal and state regulations concerning I9 forms, employment records and document retention
  • Organizes trainings online and inperson; including but not limited to Marriott trainings, Human Trafficking, Fire Safety & Security, etc
  • Organizes Employee Recognition activities, functions, and recognition program; support departments with facilitating their own functions
  • Works with HR Coordinator in administration of the Team Member of the Month, Leader of the Quarter, birthday and anniversary program.
  • Becomes expert in company's benefit offerings through HRIS system and is able to confidently explain and guide associates in their inquiries about the program
  • Consistently promotes and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Coaches and counsel staff and managers as required.
  • Deals with employee relations and investigations
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years' experience working in a HR, hospitality environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Have a strong passion for excellence, hospitality, and guest service
  • The ability to interact with all levels and departments within the hotel
  • Capable of multitasking and working in a fastpaced environment
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Able to work alone without direct supervision
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all required tasks
