Position SummaryThe Data Reporting and Integration Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, documentation, development, unit testing, and support of ad hoc data reporting and database object development for a high-volume data warehouse.
As a report developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of efficient, repeatable and appropriately-scaled solutions in a high-volume Microsoft SQL Server analytic data warehouse.
You will define and document reporting solution requirements, both technical and non-technical, and work closely with both business and technical teams to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
As a data integration engineer, you will provide support and guidance regarding data integration and T-SQL best practices and development standards, and participate in the design, development, and maintenance efforts of the data integration team.
This role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to work well with customers across a wide range of technical expertise.
High proficiency in T-SQL-particularly data modeling, data management and manipulation, code complete programming, and version control-a must.Essential Job Functions:
Collaborates with stakeholders and development team members to define reporting requirements and deadlinesWork closely with business and technical teams to translate business knowledge needs into technical development requirementsResponsible for design, development, and implementation of ad hoc analytic reportingWork closely with other engineering teams to integrate databases with other applicationsResponsible for design, development, and implementation of database applications and solutions for managing and integrating data between operational systems, data repositories, and reporting and analytical applications.
This includes but is not limited to ETL, stored procedures, views, and functionsRecommends and provide guidance regarding data integration and database development, T-SQL best practices, and standards to development team members and data analysts as neededCreates technical design documentation which includes current and future functionality, database objects affected, specifications, and flows/diagrams to detail the proposed database and/or data integration implementationTranslates stakeholder's requirements into common language that can be adopted for the use in design and development of data integration processesProvides support for investigating and troubleshooting production issuesParticipate in the establishment of group standards and processesWorks continually on improving performance of source code using industry standard methodologiesQualificationsRequired Experience:5+ years of experience in data-centric industry role (ETL, DBA, etc)5+ years of experience with SQL databases (MS SQL Server preferred, but not required)3+ years data integration technologies and principlesBachelor's degree from four-year college or university (in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred), plus three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Working knowledge and experience in online transactional (OLTP) processing and analytical processing (OLAP) databases and schemasAdvanced knowledge of T-SQL including complex SQL queries and best practicesExperience integrating data from structured and unstructured formatsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience performing self-directed work in a team environmentProven ability to learn complex data systemsWork ConditionsScientific Games Corporation and its affiliates (collectively, "SG") are engaged in highly regulated gaming and lottery businesses.
