SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the assigned supervisor, provides community outreach, career guidance and counseling. Coordinates career assessments and advises students on college application, financial aid applications, and scholarships. Also provides guidance on job readiness skills.
Assist in the fulfillment of the Agency's vision, "For Those We Serve," by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate the scheduling, administration, scoring, compilation, analysis and reporting of all career assessments for all 12th grade SOUL students.
Work closely with staff to develop and organize parent meetings.
Work closely with SOUL staff to schedule field trips, attend job fairs, and arrange for guest speakers.
Work closely with EOC Training and Employment Services staff to articulate services for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) eligible SOUL students.
Maintain a Career File for each SOUL 12th grade student as part of the student's Personal Learning Plan.
Coordinate with Fresno City College and other representatives of post-secondary educational institutions, as well as the U.S. Armed Forces for placement testing, registration, and other articulated services.
Present career assessment information to staff, students, parents, community members and others.
Maintain the SOUL Career Center with appropriate materials for post-secondary educational opportunities.
Work closely with community resources (private business, health care institutions, community-based organizations, etc.) to provide expanded opportunities for SOUL students to participate in relevant work experience in a field of their interest.
Travel for agency business using reliable transportation.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Work evenings and weekends as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts or Social Science field such as Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, and Counseling required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years' work experience facilitating career and related workshops for at- risk youth.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Ability to coordinate and supervise youth and maintain a cooperative working relationship in a school setting.
Ability to collaborate effectively with several agencies.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred based on the needs of the program and clients.
Maintain a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.
Must pass DOJ and Child Abuse Index Fingerprint clearance, TB clearance.
COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.
