Job Title:
On Call Recovery Counselor

Starting Compensation:

Working Hours/Shift:
Shifts available for as needed coverage: AM Shift: 6am-230pm, PM Shift: 2pm-1030pm, NOC Shift: 10pm-630am *$2 differential for NOC shift

What you bring to SBHG:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
  • (6) months of full-time direct care experience or six (6) months experience of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health field preferred
How you will make a difference:
  • Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities.
  • Monitors client's attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
  • Conducts and assists both large and small activity groups and outings independently but under the supervision of the Program Manager or his/her designee.
  • Accurately documents in writing each client's attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.
  • Visually and audibly observes and reports on client's physical and psychiatric conditions and reports significant changes to the Program Manager while documenting those observations in writing in the medical record.
  • Assists in preparing and serving client meals/snacks as needed.

  • Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
  • Medication evaluation and support services
