Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, and managing regulatory filings.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP, strong knowledge of sales and use tax, and the ability to take ownership of various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end general ledger close and prepare journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform detailed account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other internal and external financial reports.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Aid in the preparation of annual operating budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Tax Support: Support income tax research, special projects, filings, and accounting treatments.
  • System Improvements: Develop and implement financial system improvements, upgrades, and controls to enhance efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate process deficiencies, formulate corrective action plans, and develop process improvements and procedural controls.
  • Risk Management: Identify areas of concern or opportunity and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Post-Merger Activities: Assist in planning, execution, separation, integration, and organizational restructuring activities related to post-merger initiatives.
  • General Accounting: Perform other general accounting responsibilities and special projects as required.
  • Audit Support: Support financial reviews and audits conducted by independent auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with SAP.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales and use tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage and take ownership of regulatory filings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
