Kairos Events is a launching it Pastry and Wedding Cake segment specializing in creating exquisite pastries and breathtaking wedding cakes. Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional quality and creativity, making each client's special day memorable. We are looking for a talented and experienced Pastry and Wedding Cake Chef to join our dynamic team.

Job Description:

As a Pastry and Wedding Cake Chef at Kairos Events, you will bring your artistic flair and technical expertise to design and create stunning wedding cakes and delectable pastries. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision, develop new recipes, and ensure the highest standards of taste and presentation. This role requires a combination of creativity, precision, and business acumen to deliver exceptional products and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultations:
  • Meet with clients to discuss their vision, preferences, and dietary requirements.
  • Conduct cake and pastry tastings to help clients choose their ideal flavors and designs.
  • Recipe Development:
  • Innovate and perfect recipes for cakes, pastries, fillings, and icings.
  • Ensure all products meet taste, texture, and aesthetic standards.
  • Design and Decoration:
  • Create detailed designs and sketches for wedding cakes and pastries.
  • Execute intricate cake decorations, including sugar flowers, fondant work, and other embellishments.
  • Baking and Assembly:
  • Precisely bake cakes and pastries to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Assemble and decorate multi-tiered wedding cakes and various pastries.
  • Quality Control:
  • Maintain high standards for all products, conducting regular taste tests.
  • Solicit feedback from clients to continually improve offerings.
  • Inventory and Supply Management:
  • Order and manage inventory of ingredients, decorations, and baking supplies.
  • Ensure freshness and quality of all ingredients.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Coordinate with event planners, florists, and venues for timely delivery and proper setup of cakes.
  • Oversee on-site cake setup to ensure perfect presentation.
  • Business and Marketing:
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote pastry and wedding cake services.
  • Manage financial aspects, including pricing, budgeting, and invoicing.
  • Training and Supervision:
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and assistants.
  • Supervise kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role, with a strong portfolio of wedding cakes and pastries.
  • Excellent knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts.
  • Artistic ability and creativity in cake design and decoration.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and execution.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of business management, including inventory control and financial planning.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
