The Defense Contract Specialist is responsible for overseeing all contracts functions and agreements; pre-award, quoting, negotiations and post-award transactions relating to the processing of U.S. Government solicitations and awards.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for terms and conditions prior to the processing of the vendor quote.
+ Receive quote from Product Line Administrator.
+ Electronically file bids to GOV buying commands.
+ Coordinate with GOV buying commands for amendments to solicitations, when required.
+ Coordinate with GOV buying commands regarding the issuance of contract modifications.
+ Maintain all open GOV quote folders.
+ Work cooperatively with other members of the Defense group to ensure the highest service level possible.
+ This includes actively participating in group meetings/project teams and consistently striving to improve the organization.
+ Ensure that department procedures are understood and followed.
+ All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:**
+ Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Familiarity with Government regulations FAR & DFARS is preferred, but not required.
+ Foundational knowledge/awareness of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) supplementary rules and regs is preferred.
