About Our Job

The City and County of Denver, Community Corrections Department is seeking 2 licensed therapists (LCSW, LPC, LAC, LMFT) to provide support at our women's and men's residential centers. The main focus of these positions is to deliver mental health treatment services, including counseling, case management, and assessment, aimed at assisting clients with their reentry into the community.

Our goal is to equip clients with practical skills and tools necessary for a successful reentry, emphasizing social learning and skill-building activities to enhance cognitive, social, emotional, and coping abilities.

The positions are based at 10500 E Smith Road for the men's center and 4280 Kearney Street for the women's center. Candidates should be comfortable working in a secure environment and be available for non-traditional shifts and workdays.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting group sessions with clients
  • Meeting individually with clients to address their specific needs
  • Documenting client interactions
  • Modeling positive behaviors and providing feedback on behavior change
  • Conducting assessments based on client treatment needs
  • Collaborating on discharge planning
  • Responding to facility crises
  • Adapting to changing environments and tasks

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience in Community Corrections or working with a Criminal Justice Involved Population
  • Possess strong EHR skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research and interviewing techniques
  • Pay close attention to detail and multitask effectively
  • Show commitment to teamwork and timely task completion
  • Be motivated to work with high-risk clients and assist in behavior change
  • Hold a Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
  • Be certified in CPR/First Aid

The minimum requirements for this position include a Master's Degree in a relevant field, two years of relevant experience, and the necessary licensure.
