Position Overview

UNTD PD is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager Intern to join our team.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and developing social media strategies for a public safety organization.

The intern will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, promoting safety initiatives, and engaging with the campus community through various social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.
Creative thinker with a passion for social media and digital communication.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Job Duties:

Content Creation :

Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content for the University Police Department's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).


Campaign Management :
Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote safety programs, events, and department initiatives.

Community Engagement :
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.

Analytics and Reporting :

Track and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of content and campaigns, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations.


Brand Consistency :
Ensure all social media content aligns with the department's voice, mission, and branding guidelines.

Collaboration :

Work closely with the University's Communication and Marketing team, as well as other campus departments, to coordinate content and messaging.


Work Schedule:
Approximately 20 hours per week
