The Surgery department at Mount Carmel New Albany has 10 operating rooms and focuses heavily on orthopedic surgery (hips, knees, shoulders, spine, sports medicine, podiatry) while occasionally seeing some plastics and general surgery cases.

The Surgical Technician (Surg Tech, CST), under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Under the RN's direction, sets up, and maintains the surgical field and assists the surgeon during operative procedures.
Assists in training/orientation of associates as directed by the Clinical Educator

  • Graduate of a surgical technology program, holds a certificate of surgical technology through the NBSTSA, or graduate of a school of practical nursing
  • Licensure / Certification: If a graduate of a school of practical nursing, current license in good standing to practice as a practical nurse in the State of Ohio
  • BLS healthcare provider training required
