Your Role: As DEI Talent Attraction Associate, you'll play a key role in coordinating and enhancing our internship programs and talent attraction initiatives. Here's what you'll be doing:

Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with various departments to ensure seamless execution of Intern and Talent Attraction Programs, including initiatives such as College to Work programs and DEI efforts. A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams are essential in this role.
Creative Outreach: Craft engaging and creative job postings to maximize visibility and attract diverse candidates. Our team highly values a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Candidate Engagement: Manage incoming inquiries, provide information about our programs, and guide candidates through the application process. Previous experience in talent attraction or internship coordination is a plus.
Program Development & Post-Hire Support: Develop and oversee internship programs, maintaining communication with interns and providing support and resources to ensure their success within the organization.
Local Engagement: Actively participate in local recruiting efforts, job fairs, community events, and DEI-related events to attract diverse talent.
Workshop Coordination: Coordinate workshops on resume writing, employment information sessions, and mock interviews, contributing to candidates' professional development.
Record Keeping & Analysis: Maintain accurate records of program activities and analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement and enhance program effectiveness.

Job Summary
In Talent Acquisition - DEI & Talent Attraction Programs section of Illinois Human Resources, plays a vital role in recruitment, placement, and program coordination. Serving as a staffing partner, aligns employment activities with departmental initiatives, programming, and specific positions. With a diverse client base of colleges/units, facilitates position fulfillment and supports programs and committees. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The position involves using a variety of skills, often in complex situations.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, analytical, and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and large groups.
Proficiency in writing and editing reports and other materials.
Skill in working collaboratively and facilitating multiple viewpoints, working to consensus.
Understanding and use of electronic data systems used for Human Resources.
Ability to plan, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of others.
Ability to exercise controls over the implementation of the policies and procedures.
Proficiency in working with operations managers, staff, and the public.
Extensive knowledge of principles and procedures used in human resources
Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and/or regulations affecting public human resources administration; ability to develop a broad knowledge of those of the employing institution.
Initiative and sound judgment are all necessary for the demands of the position.
Ability to organize human resources operations within the area(s) and coordinate them with other organizational units.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service Human Resource Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 6/30/2024. Starting salary is $60,000, and is commensurate with experience.
