Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Construction Branch Manager, this position serves as Manager of the Construction Management Section within the Construction Branch. This position is responsible for leading and directing all activities, staff, and consultant staff in providing support to the Project Headquarters offices and other groups within the Division of Engineering and the Department in the area of construction management. These services include construction management practices, including contract administration, scheduling and schedule analysis, and cost estimating services.
This position requires the employee to be self-motivated, complete complex tasks independently and with high-quality final products, work cooperatively with others and maintain consistent and regular attendance. Occasional travel to project sites may be required and will involve driving a vehicle on rugged terrain to and from the job sites.

Special Requirements
Must possess a valid California driver's license when conducting State business that requires driving a vehicle. Travel on short notice and overnight lodging will be required on some trips.

This position provides necessary support to the Divisions of Flood Management, Safety of Dams, Operations and Maintenance, Engineering, and/or the Public Affairs Office during governor declared emergencies, flood, dam SWP, and other incidents and emergencies. Additionally, this position may participate in emergency operations in the capacity of area teams, field inspection, coordination, and assist agencies such as CalOES and FEMA in disaster work, including performing fieldwork to complete damage survey reports for droughts, flooding, earthquakes, and other emergencies. This position may also serve in one of the sections as established in the Incident Command System to assist the Department in performing its emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation functions. These functions are established in the California State Emergency Plan and the Department's Administrative Orders.
