MAJOR FUNCTION:
Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control activity within Environmental Services Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in the Healthcare Environmental Services required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Successful completion of supervisor course / certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; push/pull equipment; use arm; leg and back muscles for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Responsibilities
Orders sufficient supplies to maintain all areas of the facility:
- Sees that disinfectants meet Infection Control Guidelines.
- Assures all that sufficient supplies are on hand at all times.
Assures compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies:
- RMW is segregated, packaged, and disposed of accordingly to the NJDEP guidelines.
Assumes the lead role when representing our hospital during hospital/community functions:
- Acts as a representative of the facility and make decisions based on our ability to serve.
- Assures that all loaned items are returned.
- Assures that all set-ups are accomplished within the guidelines of the set-up request form.
Acts as the department facilitator:
- Instructs in-services.
- Disseminates information to all housekeepers.
- Interacts with all employees to assure all is well.
Able to interact with all levels of management:
- Attends inter-divisional meetings when required.
- Expedites requests for services.
- Understands needs of all departments and makes decisions accordingly.
