Position SummaryThe Special Events Department is responsible for selling, booking, and operating all non-stadium-wide events which total approximately events per year. The Coordinator, Special Events will have a strong role in organizing the venue logistic plans for special events and team events as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for providing high level of customer service to both NFL teams, maintaining absolute neutrality on all team issues and protecting confidentiality of each teams' information
  • Communicates effectively (oral and in writing) with NMS management, ownership, team, NMS partners, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee event operations for third party private events (meetings, receptions, banquet, tradeshows, nonprofit events, etc.) in conjunction with the facility's major tenants (Giants & Jets) and major stadium events
  • Act as a special event liaison to the New York Football Giants and New York Jets for all team events held at the stadium, besides game day, as needed
  • Supervise event staff regarding set-up for event spaces
  • Create weekly sheets and reports detailing facility set up for events and distribute to all departments
  • Communicate event staffing requirements and event needs to other departments to ensure appropriate staffing levels for events
  • Assist with event calendar maintenance and scheduling
  • Interact with clients in areas of customer service, problem solving and stressful conflicts under time constraints
  • Provide administrative support to Assistant Director for all events in the facility.
  • Take photos and post event photos to Special Events social media platforms during and after events
  • Assist as needed with special event leads via the hotline or special events inbox.
  • Assist with the Stadium Tour Program as needed
  • Assist with identifying new business opportunities, retain existing clients, and solicit new clients to support and exceed department revenue goals
  • Work directly with clients through the contracting process (i.e., provide availability of calendar and club spaces, schedule initial site checks, manage and execute contracts)
  • Maintain positive client relationships to ensure recurring events
  • Implementation of CRM database and event management software
  • Attend various events to promote and generate new leads
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee should have:
  • BA/BS in Business or related field required
  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience in coordinating multiple events
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport and relationships with a variety of clients within managed accounts
  • Creative approach to optimizing stadium presence in marketplace; Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Polished communicator, both in writing and orally; Strong client-relations skills and refined attitude at all times
  • Required knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Must be highly motivated and a collaborative team player
  • Photoshop familiarity is a plus
  • Experience with event booking system is a plus
Physical Demands:
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
Work Environment:
  • Employee will be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays due to the unique Stadium schedule
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events the noise level may be loud
  • Ability to work concerts and other stadium events as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 per year
