DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
At Cambridge Hospital, the food service team plays a crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction of patients and colleagues. The team goes above and beyond by providing three high-quality meals per day directly to the patient's bedside. Additionally, the 'Expressly for You' program assigns a dedicated Food Service Host/Hostess to cater to each patient's dining needs, ensuring a personalized experience. Orders are taken at the bedside and entered electronically for seamless integration with the hospital's medical system, allowing hosts/hostesses to address specific dietary requirements. Furthermore, the department operates a newly renovated cafeteria offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced options, including a salad bar, daily fresh soups, deli and entree stations, snacks, beverages, and a full breakfast menu.

Summary:
The role involves a range of tasks related to food preparation, handling, serving, transportation, and storage. Additionally, responsibilities may include cashiering, cleaning, and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Prep, prepare, and assemble cold salad plates following recipe cards and nutritional guidelines
  • Prepare various dessert items and follow daily production sheets accurately
  • Ensure proper use of dishes, plates, and portion control utensils
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing all produce before preparation
  • Store food appropriately after serving portions
  • Prepare salads, salad bar items, and specialty items according to guidelines
  • Deliver snacks between meals and produce 'to order' food items
  • Operate food service equipment and assist with food preparation
  • Assemble and deliver patient trays correctly for different diets
  • Support team tasks and adapt to changing schedules or needs
  • Perform tasks as requested and maintain food safety standards
  • Sanitize workstations, equipment, and dining areas
  • Dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Assist with cleaning various areas and equipment as needed
  • Stock and replenish food service equipment following guidelines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
