POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of a hostess is crucial as they are often the first point of contact for guests, playing a significant part in creating a positive impression and building relationships with customers, both new and returning.

Having a welcoming demeanor, offering genuine greetings, and maintaining a composed and professional attitude are key to shaping guests' expectations during their visit.



RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIMARY):
  • Greet and assist guests.
  • Monitor floor operations and estimate table turnover to give accurate waiting times.
  • Maintain a fair seating system.
  • Convey specific guest needs to managers or other staff members.
  • Answer phone calls, provide information to callers, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Have thorough knowledge to address common queries such as menu details, pricing, history, staff names, directions, and operating hours.
  • Express gratitude to departing guests for their visit.

RESPONSIBILITIES (POS COMPUTER SYSTEM):

Tasks include assigned side duties like:
  • Cleaning surfaces.
  • Restocking station with menus, mints, crayons, business cards, etc.
  • Engaging with guests.
  • Soliciting feedback.
  • Assisting with take-out orders and participating in various restaurant operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL EMPLOYEES):
  • Engage in the Total Service experience and seek ways to assist guests and colleagues when necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service consistently.
  • Follow all restaurant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities, energetic, enthusiastic, and inspirational.
  • Capability to multitask, stay composed under pressure, build rapport with various personalities, and communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Successful candidates will be team players and have good interpersonal skills.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
  • Telephones & Paging system (if applicable).
  • POS time and tip procedures.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • May require occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Varied noise levels, potentially high at times.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to external elements occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
