Job Description

Intertek is seeking an Engineer to join their Electrical team in Menlo Park, CA.

Position Overview

The Engineer will conduct testing and evaluations on various products to ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international safety standards. Responsibilities also include writing reports and liaising with clients.

Depending on their background and career goals, candidates will be assigned to either the medical device or electrical safety team.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Assess and apply national codes and standards to equipment under test (EUT).
  • Confirm project scope and sample relevance.
  • Conduct design reviews on and off-site.
  • Create and execute test plans.
  • Document test results, compile data, and generate final reports.
  • Communicate project status and results to stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering judgments within established guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Electrical, Mechanical, BioMed preferred.
  • 0+ years of experience in product safety testing or certification.
  • Knowledge in electrical circuit design/analysis principles.
  • Experience in semiconductors beneficial.
  • Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and international safety standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independent work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior project management experience advantageous.
  • Ability to make technical decisions autonomously.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
