Are you a dynamic and results-driven finance professional interested in making a difference by joining as the Deputy Director of Finance in Virginia's second largest city? The City of Chesapeake is seeking an experienced individual for the role of Deputy Director of Finance.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong emotional intelligence and possess the ability to adjust their leadership style to meet the team and customer needs.

You will become part of a skilled finance team in a city known for its stability and effective management, as the previous incumbent has recently retired.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of 35 professionals as the second in command. Following the recent appointment of a new CFO in February, the team is focused on enhancing customer service, communication, staff development, and process enhancements.

This is a thrilling opportunity to be a part of the team's growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of six years of relevant full-time experience
  • Valuable credentials or certifications (e.g., MPA, CPA, CPFO, leadership)
