Summary of Position:
The Director of Business Development role is a pivotal sales position dedicated to meeting the food service requirements of school districts. You will engage with C-Level executives in the K-12 sector including Business Managers, Superintendents, and School Board Members. Your primary focus will be on enhancing productivity and profitability to reach sales goals and drive sustainable growth in alignment with our business strategy. This role covers multiple states including MI, OH, and western PA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of successful B2B or outside sales experience
- Background in the K12 industry
- Familiarity with the National School Lunch Program is a bonus
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work autonomously across various regions
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze and develop financial projections, P&Ls, and manage budgets effectively
- Proficient in identifying prospects, building relationships, and handling long-term sales cycles
Responsibilities:
- Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing deals
- Identify, qualify, and contact prospects
- Develop and deliver proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
- Participate in tradeshows, presentations, and provide operational support as needed
- Cultivate strong relationships with key school officials
- Utilize CRM software for sales activity tracking
- Organize presentations, conferences, and calls
- Maintain tradeshow leads and contact information
- Perform other duties as assigned
