Job Description:

  • Collaborate with senior scientists to develop and test innovative crop breeding methods utilizing gene editing and plant transformation.
  • Enhance molecular biology skills and contribute to significant discovery research.
  • Maintain detailed records of tasks performed and exhibit enthusiasm for learning about crop enhancement techniques and engaging in idea exchanges with the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute molecular biology tasks under the guidance of Senior Scientists.
  • Manage plant growth chamber activities, such as seed planting and harvesting, plant crossbreeding, and leaf sample collection.
  • Monitor and procure laboratory supplies.
  • Record all work carried out.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques like PCR, DNA extraction, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Strong note-taking, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote).
  • Experience in greenhouse plant cultivation.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • DNA construct/plasmid cloning.
  • Experience in presenting at laboratory meetings.
