Randstad is seeking an experienced Molecular Biologist to work with senior scientists as part of team to develop and test novel crop breeding methods that use gene editing and plant transformation. In this position, you will have the opportunity to enhance your molecular biology skills while contributing to meaningful discovery research. You must be good at taking notes and keeping records of what they have done. This position requires the successful candidate to work onsite. Relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this position, local candidates are preferred.

salary: $24 - $26 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities
  • Perform molecular biology work with instruction from Senior Scientists
  • Maintain plant growth chamber including planting and harvesting seeds, making crosses between plants and collecting leaf samples
  • Track and order lab supplies
  • Document work Must Haves:
    • BS in Biology, Biochemistry or related field of study.
    • Standard molecular biology skills such as performing PCR, DNA extraction and gel electrophoresis.
    • Excellent note taking, communication and organization skills.
    • Familiarity with the standard suite of Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote).
    • Growing and managing plants in greenhouse.
