We are seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager to supervise a range of projects involved in acquiring and retaining business accounts. The successful candidate will efficiently lead teams to meet project deadlines, be organized and punctual, and possess experience in interacting with clients, staff, and vendors.

Job Summary: Management of the day-to-day operations of assigned projects to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors during the installation phase of the project while helping to meet or exceed the customer's and the company's objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, and safety.

Specific Duties/Expectations:

  • Develop a preliminary project schedule and submit it to customers and/or project managers for input into an overall project schedule for the project. Help establish expected manpower requirements for the project and communicate them to management for planning and recruitment.
  • Collaborate with vendors to procure all prime and rough materials for the project along with any subcontractors and leased equipment needed to support the work.
  • Ensure all materials, equipment, and manpower arrive at the job site promptly to maximize productivity during construction.
  • In design/build projects, assist the prime project manager(s) with the direction, review, and approval of system designs, costing, and changes
  • Plan and oversee the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment required by the contract.
  • Prepare budgets, support bidding activities, and aid in contract negotiation activities with customers. Lead all negotiation activities with subcontractors in developing subcontract agreements for the work.
  • Support the company's sales efforts

Salary Range: $72,000 to $90,000 annually

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent with a preference for individuals with college/technical school training and degrees.
  • At least 5 years' on-the-job training experience in other industry/trade roles supporting field operations management.
  • Understanding of basic business practices related to contracts and costing
  • Basic knowledge of the sales process in the industry.
  • Previous commercial or mechanical construction or engineering background is advantageous
