How You'll Make an Impact

The purpose of this position is to grow the Valvoline business by developing, calling on, and servicing key WD strategic accounts for the Valvoline family of products. While having direct sales and marketing support responsibility for WD customers, this position will also require management of commissioned sales teams. This position will require extensive knowledge of each channel of trade and will be responsible for executing selling platforms, marketing programs, and account specific promotions that deliver strategic growth for Valvoline Global Operations. Relationship building with these accounts is critical to the success of this role. This includes customer site visits, and various face to face interactions at domestic locations throughout the United States.
  • Developing, calling on, and servicing key strategic accounts for the Valvoline family of products.
  • Implement retail & wholesale sales strategies to attain growth targets outlined in the Valvoline Strategic Plan. Position will work with Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, etc. to develop strategic and effective selling platforms including price, trade programs, promotions, shipping programs, and marketing support.
  • Develop, execute, and evaluate channel &/or account specific marketing promotions. Communicate and coordinate sales activities with other National and Retail Account Managers to maximize sales and promotional potential across all retail & DIFM accounts as necessary.
  • Review and evaluate Valvoline's customer supply chain actions to identify and implement most efficient and cost effective transportation of Valvoline products to direct store locations & distribution centers.
  • Utilize dedicated account customer service group for WD to best service and manage day to day fulfillment of goods. Face to face meetings/travel to customer locations and other venues is required to be successful at the above objectives.
  • Work with Valvoline management at the Director level to develop annual account/divisional plans. Review sales, volume/share, and profit on at least a monthly basis to monitor progress and manage P&L to deliver volume, sales and profit objectives.
  • Work with Valvoline Customer Service and customer's Accounts Payable group to insure prompt and accurate payment of all invoices.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion
What You'll Need
  • BS or BA Degree Required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales, marketing and/or industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Relevant industry/consumer goods / retail / promotions experience and analytical strength using Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time with 50% overnights.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
