Principal Quality Engineer- RF & Microwave

JobPurpose:

The Principal Quality Engineer will be responsible forsupport of multiple business units across various key commercial andAerospace and Defense programs. Product Scope includes component butprincipally higher-level modules and pallet programs. Additional support ofthe site quality system and continuous improvement initiatives will also berequired.

Main Duties andResponsibilities:
  • Overallresponsibility for implementation and execution of the qualitymanagement system (QMS) with existing or new programs assigned.
  • Mainrepresentative from the quality organization interacting with customercounterparts on programs assigned.
  • Partner with Program Management andIntegrated Product Team (IPT) to provide proactive issue identification,causal analysis, mitigation, and preventive action.
  • Representthe Quality functional organization at program reviews, program staffmeetings, etc.
  • Establishand maintain Quality metrics that are utilized by the program team tomonitor performance.
  • Manageand report on Root Cause and Corrective Action effectively for all areasof Program / Product execution.
  • Performtrend analysis and oversee corrective measures for Quality relatedmetrics; surveil program metric trends.
  • Communicateand escalate quality, customer satisfaction and program performanceissues to the program team, functional / program managers and businessleaders as necessary for timely resolution.
  • Responsiblefor helping to improve customer satisfaction scores for the Qualityscope.
  • Assistin the planning of internal and subcontractor audits.
  • LeadBU reviews from a Quality perspective for existing and new programsduring customer source control documents review, during the new productstage gate process, and product support post release.
  • Proficientin control plans, FMEAs, PPAP, MSA, 6sigma, 5s and other leanmethodologies theability to guide institutional learning on these methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering orrelated technical field (or equivalent) with 5-10+ years of componentand/or module/pallet assembly processes with direct experience inmanaging complex programs and customers from a Quality and/ormanufacturing view.
  • Understanding of semiconductor device fabricationand components theory.
  • Understanding of Printed Circuit BoardManufacturing: IPC-600, IPC-610, J-STD-001
  • Understanding of Micro-ElectronicsAssembly: MIL-STD-833
  • Experience managing programs in compliancewith AS9100D standards.
  • Working knowledge of statistical samplingplans used for inspection or test of components along with the abilityto perform statistical data analysis on large data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-practiced organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work both independently andwithin a team environment.
  • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, andPowerPoint, Project).
  • Statistical software experience (JMP,Minitab, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile and/or SAP a plus.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, candidates must be USCitizen or Permanent Resident
  • Position resides in Lowell MA but frequenttravel to the MACOM Nashua NH site will be required. Travel to MorganHill, CA also may be required (but less frequent).
  • Some business travel to end customers maybe required.
