SUMMARY:


The primary responsibility of the Quality Control Inspector is to ensure that products meet the established quality standards before they are released to customers.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products throughout various stages of production to identify defects, deviations from specifications, and areas for improvement.

The attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards are crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction and the overall success of the company.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using various tools and equipment to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including any defects or deviations from quality standards
  • Prepare reports summarizing inspection findings and provide feedback to production teams.
  • Process nonconformances in ERP (Epicor) and QMS (uniPoint).
  • Assist in DMR and RMA process actions.
  • Participates in MRB activities.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and update quality standards as needed.
  • Identify and communicate any quality issues to relevant personnel.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve quality concerns promptly.
  • Ensure that inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and participate in routine calibration activities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance overall product quality.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address root causes of quality issues.
  • Provide training to production staff on quality standards and inspection processes.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and quality control trends.
  • Ensure that products adhere to industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in quality control regulations and update procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with ISO 900
  • Ability to read and interpret general business forms and government documents
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and preliminary statistical analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fastpaced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Experience dealing with manufacturing and inventory a plus
  • Must possess strong communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and colleagues in both verbal and written form.

QUALIFICATIONS **(Education and experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in quality control is a plus.
  • Experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment.
  • A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Working conditions are in a normal office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and stand; using the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lens. Requires long periods of time working at a computer and includes phone work.
