Position Summary:
The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing advanced patient care to critically ill, complex patients in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals in the Medical Intensive Care Unit including the care of post cardiac surgical patients.
Performs a wide variety of high-level patient care activities which may include conducting patient history and physical examination, the development and implementation of individualized care plans to address medical, physical, and psychosocial needs, perform procedural skills, and evaluation of patient progress.
The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is accountable for the clinical outcomes of assigned patients and ongoing professional development.
Minimum Education:
- Master\'s degree from nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Master\'s degree from nationally accredited Physician Assistant program
Minimum Experience:
- Preferred: One year of critical care experience including care of the cardiac patient population
- Open to new graduate ACNP/AGACNP/PA with critical care experience including care of the cardiac patient population
Certification/License:
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- Active MO state license or ability to obtain prior to start date
