Job Summary

The Senior Director, Business Intelligence Architect is a leadership role, within the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) Organization, responsible for developing an integrated business intelligence technical architecture. This role will collaborate with EBI team leaders (e.g. data, analytic, reporting & research) and external partners to develop a scalable BI architecture, to reduce complexity, drive integration, realize operational efficiencies, and introduce innovative and best-in-class technologies. This role will require a strong technical background, system architecture experience, a working knowledge of modern data architecture, effective communication, and project management experience to assess existing technologies and leverage new technologies, to design innovative data access and business intelligence delivery solutions.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an enterprise BI technical architecture roadmap & investment strategy.
  • Implement a collaborative BI architecture governance process with EBI domain leaders (e.g. data, reporting, analytics, AIML, and research).
  • Provide technical BI leadership and vision to support EBI team leaders in developing and deploying new BI solutions.
  • Assess current EBI technology portfolio and develop strategies to streamline and scale capabilities.
  • Explore new technology trends and implement solutions to modernize the EBI technology stack.
  • Develop a strategy to integrate AI into the Business Intelligence architecture & solutions.
  • Lead projects to develop business, operational & investment plans to introduce new technologies.

Experience & Skills

  • Requires 16+ years of experience, and at least 12 years in leading system architecture and creating solutions in Big Data cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to stay ahead of new technologies and streamline existing technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of architecture decisions.
  • Experience in developing business and technology investment plans.
  • Experience in/working knowledge of relational database platforms, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS), in-memory data stores, MPP data warehouse appliances (e.g., Teradata), and Spark.
  • Experience in working with business analytics tools including dashboard/visualization and fit for purpose AI/ML models to improve business outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
