GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Millwright's essential responsibilities include:
1) Maintaining equipment reliability

2) Reliability Centered maintenance techniques and

3) safe and efficient return to service of assets that have been serviced or repaired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow safety policies and procedures outlined in the company Safety Manual.
  • Work with Production as well as Maintenance and Engineering as a technical resource for rotating equipment, foundations, structural blueprints etc.
  • Productivity level must consistently equal the company's productivity as defined by work instructions.
  • Repair all stationary and mobile equipment (ex.
pumps, agitators, gearboxes, hydraulic equipment, etc.)

  • Maintain excellent TPM housekeeping in accordance with company standards both within the maintenance shop and in the plant.
  • Serve as resident expert for all rigging needs and lifting requirements in the Evonik plant.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Knowledge of sophisticated alignment tools such as laser alignment tools, and the ability to use depth gage, dial indicators, read blueprints and decipher inaccuracies that may be present.
  • Assemble and disassemble complicated machinery, mechanical aptitude is very important.
  • Strength and agility also are necessary because the work can require a considerable amount of lifting and climbing.
  • Need good interpersonal and communication abilities to work as part of a team and to be able to give detailed instructions to others.
  • Working knowledge of vibration tools and analysis to provide feedback and recommendations to Maintenance Supervisor for early detection.
STRATEGIC FOCUS:

  • Preventive Maintenance Compliance
  • Safely, Orderly, and Timely completion of work orders from the issue stage to the completion stage
  • Improvement in mean time between equipment failures (MTBF) via Root Cause Analysis.
NATURE & SCOPE:

Qualifications :

  • NCCER (National Center for Construction Education Research) certified Millwright.
  • Successful completion of Rigging Certification through NCCER within twelve months of accepting Millwright position with Evonik, if not already certified.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in the Millwright craft within the petrochemical industry preferred.
