Your Opportunity
To excel as a Senior Medical Planner, a collaborative mindset is crucial.

You'll have the support of our network and be empowered to collaborate with clients and internal teams as a thought leader in health planning.


As a Senior Medical Planner, you will lead strategic, master facility, and medical planning for health sector projects at various scales.

You'll drive integrated design proposals, mentor team members, and work closely with the Project Leader to deliver exceptional results.

Supported by our Global Health Sector team, you'll have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to our design excellence.


Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Medical Planning for health projects, from community-focused designs to large-scale transformative healthcare facilities
  • Guide clinical planning for a range of care services, following best practices and Evidence Based Design principles
  • Oversee QA/QC processes for various planning aspects
  • Provide technical assistance in project setup, work plan development, and budgeting
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and develop architectural solutions
  • Create designs and presentations, ensuring alignment with project needs
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and inspire team members
  • Represent healthcare design and Stantec's brand through leadership
  • Collaborate with leadership for successful project outcomes
  • Develop solutions that meet client goals and Stantec's standards
  • Build strong client relationships and communicate solutions effectively
  • Mentor junior team members and participate in thought leadership initiatives
  • Contribute to the design culture of the studio

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive knowledge of health design complexity and facility planning guidelines
  • Strong client relationships and a portfolio of significant projects
  • Excellent communication skills for presentations and clinical meetings
  • Leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on quality and deadlines
  • Experience in sustainable design/LEED and proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, REVIT
  • Familiarity with alternate project delivery methodologies and IPD

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • Licensed Architect or Interior Designer with 10+ years of healthcare planning experience
