Location:

IN301: 1010 Production Rd Ft Wayne IN 1010 Production Road , Fort Wayne, IN, 46808 USA

Position Role Type:

Onsite

About Us:

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Job Summary:

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

The Advanced RF Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) organization has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support ongoing integration, test, and sustainment activities for the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Common Electronics Unit (CEU). NGJ is the flagship product for the Airborne Electronic Attack sub-strategic business unit (S-SBU) within the Naval Power SBU of Raytheon. This position supports a variety of activities including but not limited to production sustainment, failure investigation and resolution, root cause and corrective action, supplier engagement, test planning and implementation, and new system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V). The successful candidate is an energetic, focused, and capable engineer with strong organizational capabilities and a drive to learn and grow. The preferred candidate has prior experience with development, integration, and test of complex RF systems in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) or similar end customer.

ONSITE Position in Fort Wayne, IN

What You Will Do:

  • Support test, fault identification, failure resolution, and acceptance of production and field return hardware related to the RF-centric components of the CEU subsystem
  • Provide engineering oversight to NGJ lab testing activities, specifically overseeing the test, evaluation, data analysis, and issue resolution of CEU frequency converter modules
  • Provide subject matter consultation in support of situations including (but not limited to) customer inquiries, field failures, product obsolescence, test capability enhancements, new product integration and test planning, quality issues, and material review board activities.
  • Support hardware configuration management activities, ensuring the system configuration is stable and secure, while managing the propagation of change within the overall CEU system.
  • May be called upon to support bid and proposal efforts on NGJ CEU by providing labor estimations and supporting material cost estimations.
  • Able to balance multiple, varying commitments, exercising discretion and with moderately low direct oversight.
  • Occasional business travel (10% or less)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior, relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience integrating and testing microwave RF receiver/exciter systems preferably in a closed lab environment.
  • Must have prior exposure to RF system design and operational principles and/or RF system and subsystem-level analysis and test.
  • Experience analyzing, developing and implementing solutions to complex engineering problems in conditions of moderate uncertainty.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in the Electronic Attack (i.e. signals jamming) sub-domain of EW.
  • Experience using MATLAB and/or PathWave Advanced Design System (ADS) for simulation and design of RF systems.
  • Familiarity with the use of Labview for RF system test design and execution
  • Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) software
  • Experience using DOORS for requirements management
  • Experience analyzing, characterizing, and validating RF systems, using network and Spectrum analyzers
  • Experience communicating and presenting system design details and/or system test results to internal and external customers.

What We Offer:

Whether you're just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement, and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. Some of the benefits we offer include parental (including paternal) leave, flexible work schedules, achievement awards, educational assistance and child/adult backup care.
