The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Oncology Unit is a 36-bed acute care unit for adult surgical patients on Weinberg 4 C/D. You will learn many valuable nursing skills through a comprehensive structured unit orientation, attend core Department of Surgery courses, and be assigned a designated preceptor during your residency. Monday - Fridays 10:30AM - 11:00PM, an experienced nurse functions as a resource nurse. They have no patient assignment, so they are available to assist with admissions, discharges, troubleshooting, emergencies and more
Registered Nurse I - Surgical Oncology Unit (Weinberg 4 C/D). This position is for the new grad nurse to orient in a Nurse Residency Program (NRP) on the Surgical Oncology Unit (Weinberg 4 C/D).
About Johns Hopkins Medicine:
Requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of Clinical Rotation.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required.
- Tuition reimbursement - BSN/MSN matriculation required within one-year of hire and completion of degree within five-years of hire.
- Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
- CPR/BLS certification required. AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
Responsibilities:
- All New Graduate Registered Nurses will be automatically enrolled in a year-long accredited Nurse Residency Program (NRP) to facilitate a successful transition into professional nursing practice.
- Attends in-service training and continuing education programs.
- Consistently demonstrates organization's core values.
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care.
