The Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing creative and effective messages and products to promote service at Princeton and to increase student involvement in service.

Content development and production executed across traditional and digital channels is a primary responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

Communications:
Content development and production


Prepare and implement compelling content for print, digital and multimedia platforms that highlights students, their connection with community, and the impact of their shared experiences.

Increasing and sustaining social media presence is a priority.

Update the website and coordinate regular website review and maintenance to ensure content is current, accurate and clear.

Develop and execute poster campaigns with specific messaging to first-year students and students who have just completed service internships.

Collaborate with Pace Center program staff on developing program-specific communications materials.

Work with external vendors, including photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and others

Participate in the University's campus communications network.

Marketing:
Connection and outreach

Plan, execute and optimize the Center's digital marketing presence to encourage social media participation.


Increase awareness of the impact of service through powerful, overt and active storytelling, championing marginalized students and communities and elevating the diverse perspectives, voices and experiences of students and community engaging together in service.


Develop, publish, and promote a calendar for the year of service-focused events, deadlines and other important activities and dates for student visibility and recruitment.

Develop and publish a newsletter using student input and feedback on content, regularity, and platform.

Engage and inform internal and external audiences around what service is at Princeton. Promote Pace Center programs, events and activities employing effective and on-trend strategies, channels, and platforms
Qualifications

Essential:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

3+ years experience working in a communications and/or marketing role.

Exceptional verbal and written skills

Proficiency with social media platforms

Ability to tailor messages to specific audiences with an awareness of the college student experience

Curiosity to explore and propose communications approaches and platforms

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Commitment to champion diverse and marginalized individuals and communities

Preferred:
Experience working directly with college students, a plus.

An awareness of service and civic engagement

Experience in multimedia, photography, illustration

Requirements:
