Position Summary

The Lead Business Analyst acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The Lead Business Analyst is an active thought partner and application visionary that shapes the technology demand among the business community.

The Lead Business Analyst is an expert in a specialized field and broad knowledge of several related disciplines. This person will be focused on long term goals, help with roadmap, lead execution of projects for the team(s)/remove roadblocks and demonstrate strong leadership traits to carry team(s) forward.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for partnering with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements. Mentor technology peers and educate business.
  • Working across numerous programs and projects to ensure technical excellence of the company's consumer-facing experiences
  • Responsible for partnering with business to understand and troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products and partner with software engineers quality analysts to identify course of resolutions
  • Make recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of systems, as well as coordinated third party systems. Collaborate with business partners in identifying opportunities to streamline their operations with technology. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes
  • Leadership across cross-functional teams and responsible for conducting complex and critical work for the organization. Failure would result in critical impact to the organization.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience as a business analyst, system analyst or quality analyst
  • 5+ years of training or experience in creating use cases, business modeling and business requirements
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in driving projects independently & strong cross-functional leadership
  • Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into application requirements
  • Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Demonstrated leadership traits by partnering with software engineers quality analysts to identify course of resolutions
