Equus Management Group is looking for a full-time Communications Manager to join our family at our Sierra Canyon Location. The perfect candidate is outgoing, a multitasker, and enjoys a fun and a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

Communications Manager will develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for the organization to ensure that important information, community updates, and promote the communities identity, mission, and positive messages.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Manager of Communications sits on numerous committees to provide accurate need-to-know information to the Board, staff, and community.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to promote and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication.
  • Oversees the workflow and work assignments of the communications team committee to ensure effective collaboration among committee members and consistent, quality work.
  • Drafts proposals for special communications projects; presents on and promotes these projects to management.
  • Seeks new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of key events and changes in the organization including the launch of new policies, special events, local and global community service, and other topics of interest.
  • Prepares and distributes direct communication to the community in a timely manner.
  • Represents the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Superlative communication skills in all forms.

  • Excellent proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to difficult questions and issues.
  • Ability to create, implement, and apply a budget.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications required
  • At least seven years of experience in communications field required.
  • Management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
