Job Description Summary
The Senior Program Director of State & Local Policy will spearhead the planning and execution of Enterprise's policy initiatives in Florida, focusing on Miami-Dade County. Reporting to the Director of State & Local Policy for the Southeast region based in Atlanta, Georgia, this role will oversee policy efforts in Florida in collaboration with the State & Local Policy Director for the Southeast. While initial work may be remote due to limited groundwork in Florida, there is potential for the position to transition to an in-person role in Miami-Dade County.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead policy work at the state and local levels in Florida, primarily in Miami-Dade County.
- Develop and implement policy agendas for Florida, ensuring alignment with national priorities and external partners.
- Cultivate relationships with key partners and advocacy organizations at the state and local levels.
- Collaborate with government officials to design policy solutions that support affordable housing and community resilience.
- Manage advocacy consultants, monitor legislative activities, and prepare advocacy materials.
- Engage in lobbying efforts and support national policy priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, share best practices, and participate in policy retreats.
- Research and analyze policies and programs promoting affordable housing and community development.
- Coordinate policy-related events, communications, and engage in fundraising activities.
- Travel as needed to support policy initiatives and team meetings.
- Undergraduate degree in public policy, economics, urban planning, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in public policy, urban planning, or real estate.
- Experience in affordable housing and navigating legislative processes.
- Demonstrated research, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Strong commitment to Enterprise's mission.
