Exciting Opportunity: Landscape Management Position at Marriott Hotels

JOB SUMMARY

As part of **Marriott Hotels landscaping team**, you will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of employees involved in maintaining the beautiful golf course turf.

You'll play a crucial role in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while meeting the budget goals of the department.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 2-year degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in landscaping/grounds maintenance.
OR

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field without the need for prior work experience.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Day-To-Day Operations

  • Assisting workers with key tasks.
  • Providing ongoing performance feedback to employees.
  • Collaborating with the Golf Course Superintendent on project planning.
  • Assigning work priorities and schedules to employees for various tasks like fertilizing, mowing, and seeding.
  • Supervising daily operations to ensure compliance with department standards.
  • Leading the Grounds department in the absence of the Superintendent.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations to maintain the golf course property.
  • Being capable of stepping in to perform employee duties when needed.
  • Participating in department meetings to communicate goals effectively.

Leading Landscaping/Grounds Team

  • Emphasizing safety procedures and ensuring employee compliance.
  • Setting specific goals to organize work effectively.
  • Promoting trust and cooperation among team members.
  • Ensuring employees have necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining productivity levels among team members.
  • Facilitating teamwork to achieve common goals.
  • Addressing employee inquiries and issues.
  • Providing feedback on employee service behaviors.
  • Guiding subordinates by setting performance standards.
  • Striving for continuous improvement.
  • Adhering to loss prevention policies.
  • Utilizing strong interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the team.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Encouraging employees to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Maintaining quality standards and addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Resolving guest issues and obtaining feedback for improvement.
  • Delivering services that exceed customer expectations.
  • Setting a positive example for guest interactions.

Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities

  • Communicating performance expectations to department employees.
  • Training employees on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Participating in employee recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Engaging in employee recognition programs to acknowledge performance.
  • Leading training initiatives for employees.
  • Identifying educational needs and providing relevant training.
  • Participating in accident investigations as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyzing information and problem-solving effectively.
  • Continuously updating technical knowledge for job improvement.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
The hourly pay range for this position is **$21.25 to $28.37**.
