Job Summary:
The Diabetes Nurse Educator
- Pediatrics assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the patient centered diabetes education program at the SUNY Upstate Joslin Affiliate.
Provide diabetes education services and general diabetes self-management education (DSME) to patient and families, care partners and community at Joslin and throughout the Upstate Network.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, health or education related field and 3 years of direct patient care clinical experience (preferably with diabetes care and management) requiredOR NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN, Associate's degree in Nursing and 5 years of direct patient care clinical experience required.
Certified Diabetes Care and Education (CDCES) certification or ability to obtain CDCES within 4 years of hire required. Excellent written/oral communication skills and strong computer skills required.CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree preferred
Diabetes experience preferredWork Days:
