What You Will Be Doing :

  • Attending meetings, workshops, conferences, and testing events as a SME.
  • Assisting with the organization and planning for all program-related meetings.
  • Attending regular virtual and in-person tag-up meetings with the PM and providing short email reports summarizing discussions and actions.
  • Attending regular virtual and in-person progress meetings with the performers and providing short email reports summarizing discussions and actions.
  • Attending regular virtual and in-person progress meetings with T&E teams and providing short email reports summarizing discussions and actions.
  • Assisting with the development of presentations, such as Program Management Reviews, PI meeting slides, kick-off meeting slides, and other program reporting requirements.
  • Serving as a technical liaison between performers, government, testing and evaluation, and transition partners.
  • Reviewing, providing analysis, and making recommendations concerning technical reports, data, performer approaches, and performer test and evaluation.
  • Providing feedback to the PM for technical portions of proposals.
  • Reviewing, editing, and providing feedback to the PM for draft T&E statements of work.
  • Supporting technical transition and transfer efforts.
  • Examining data sources and literary sources for emerging technology related to the program.
  • Providing technical support and expertise on new concepts beyond the program within areas of expertise.
Required Skills:

Must Have :
  • MUST HAVE a Current and Active Top Secret SCI, as the customer is NOT sponsoring clearances.
  • SME expertise in power systems design, electrical engineering, physics, materials science/engineering, chemistry, and/or mechanical engineering as relevant to the development and integration of solar photovoltaic (PV) and other solid-state energy conversion systems and/or components destined for space or terrestrial environments.
  • Master's degree of Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, or closely related field.
  • 5+ years' post-graduate technical experience in power systems, PV devices, semiconductors, power electronics, or closely related field.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of one or more PV system components, including PV materials or device engineering, semiconductors, power electronics, optical system design, performance modeling, and heat transfer.
  • Experience performing physics-based computational modeling/simulation to aid with component and/or system design and/or performance analysis.
  • 3+ years' project management experience and proficiency in project management principles relevant to government research and development programs, including creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.
  • 3+ years' experience in system integration for research and development prototyping.
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple, concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent slide deck development skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.

Nice to Have :
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in space systems engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science/engineering, chemistry as relevant to the development and integration of photovoltaic and/or power systems into spacecraft, or closely related field of research.
  • Experienced performing or utilizing the results from accelerated lifetime and/or environmental durability testing to further research and development objectives.
