Charleston, South Carolina, United States HNTB Full time
About the Job Title

The time is perfect to join HNTB's expanding Design Build (DB) Organization. We are on the lookout for a Scheduler III with proven expertise in fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects and extensive P6 experience.

This position plays a vital role in the project controls team, overseeing multiple project teams in WBS and schedule development, monitoring and reporting project progress and performance cost analysis, and earned value reporting.

Analyze project outputs to proactively detect project issues, devise recovery plans, and integrate changes into the project schedule. This individual will achieve HNTB's 4 for 4 performance standard: delivering quality work, on time, within budget, and meeting client satisfaction on every project by collaborating with internal and external partners and cross-discipline teams to address and resolve design-related issues or concerns.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently develop new project schedules for moderately complex projects using scheduling software. Maintain project schedule, including progress updates. Revise forecasts and assess the impact of delays. Communicate schedule status and key risk areas to project management team members.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis, including quantitative risk analysis.
  • Analyze schedules to identify critical activities, risk areas, key milestones, and significant changes. Create 'what if' scenarios to explore alternate sequencing to prevent or mitigate schedule delays.
  • Perform analysis related to claims using contractor claims, delay cost estimates, time impacts, etc.
  • Generate reports from schedules, including EVA analysis and cost schedule integration.
  • Conduct contemporaneous schedule analysis.
  • Review contractor schedule submittals in detail, including baseline and progress updates.
  • Examine project documentation related to claim data, such as project correspondence and inspection diaries.
  • Analyze contract documents and construction documents to interpret scope of work, milestones, contract time, and construction phasing and sequencing for the schedule.
  • Assist the project team in work planning, including developing Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimating durations, and sequencing the work (hard restraints and soft restraints).
  • Perform other assigned duties.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Alternatively, 10 years of relevant experience in the absence of formal education

What We Prefer:

  • AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience in preparing and/or reviewing project schedules using commercially available scheduling software
  • Background in working as a client's PM/CM agent or as part of a design-build contractor
