Director of Business Development at GBC Food Services

Overview:
The Director of Business Development at GBC Food Services plays a key role in driving growth initiatives and expanding market presence. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic relationships, and securing contracts in line with the company's commitment to delivering top-notch food service solutions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Direct and mentor teams engaged in business development to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development:
Spearhead the exploration and pursuit of new opportunities in the food service sector, leveraging industry knowledge and connections to increase market share and revenue.

Market Intelligence:
Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, assess competition, and understand customer needs. Utilize these insights to make strategic decisions and uncover growth opportunities.

Client Partnership Excellence:
Develop and maintain valuable relationships with key stakeholders, meeting their specific requirements to establish the company as the preferred choice for food service solutions.

Dynamic Sales Leadership:
Create and implement innovative sales strategies focused on enhancing customer acquisition. Emphasize effective prospecting, compelling sales pitches, and meeting sales targets for maximum ROI.

Empowering Team Growth:
Guide and develop a team of business development professionals, providing mentorship and support to drive team success and individual growth.

Unified Team Effort:
Ensure close collaboration with marketing, product, and operations teams. Align business development activities with company goals for efficient execution and enhanced outcomes.

Data-Driven Performance Management:
Establish and track key performance metrics to assess the success of business initiatives. Deliver comprehensive reports to management, showcasing progress, identifying opportunities, and promoting continuous improvement.

National Engagement and Expansion:
Travel extensively nationwide to explore new business opportunities and engage with potential clients, reinforcing the company's position in the industry.

Strategic Growth Planning:
Create and execute a detailed plan targeting key markets and sectors to expand the company's presence and influence.

Key Industry Relationships:
Establish and nurture crucial connections with industry leaders, ensuring alignment with market needs.

Adaptive Market Strategies:
Regularly review market analyses to identify trends and challenges. Adjust strategies to stay competitive and seize emerging opportunities.

Collaborative Strategy Alignment:
Work closely with internal teams to ensure synergy between business development plans and company objectives.

Deal Closure and Revenue Achievement:
Lead contract negotiations and finalize agreements to exceed revenue and growth targets.

Strategy Evaluation and Refinement:
Continuously evaluate the impact of business development tactics, making necessary adjustments to drive expansion.

Industry Engagement:
Actively participate in industry associations to stay informed about trends and networking opportunities.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive experience in business development, particularly in the food service or hospitality industry.

- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field. An MBA is advantageous. Significant experience in a business development role, with a focus on the food service or hospitality industry. Grocery industry experience is desirable, with a deep understanding of the grocery sector dynamics as they relate to food services.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel extensively using various transportation modes.
- Capable of managing a mobile office and working efficiently in diverse locations.

Work Environment:
This role requires frequent national travel to meet clients and participate in industry events. Professional interaction with clients demands exceptional presentation and negotiation skills.
