Position Summary
The Student Success Center at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Administrative Manager - First Generation Programs position. The primary function and responsibilities of this position is to provide clerical, technical, and administrative support and assistance by working in all aspects of the First Generation Programs. The work includes processing requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices, as well as organizing and filing program reports, correspondences, applications, and other assigned documents; develop and maintain electronic files; and using the University's Banner System.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Career, technical or associate's degree required; bachelor's degree or higher(preferred).
Minimum Required Experience
Three to five years of proven office and budget management experience.Additionally, this individual just have thorough working knowledge of the University's Financial Management Systems (PAWS-Personal Access to Web Services and Banner), and other systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the identified activities' main office by maintaining accurate records to supportthe daily activities of the office and administrative staff
- Maintain calendar for office staff and program activity, schedules and agenda
- Establish and maintain budget reports for grant activities
- Assist in the preparation (typing and organizing) of internal and external reports.
- Communicate with program directors concerning documentation of financial requests, schedules, and reports.
- Assist in the preparation (typing, editing, and assembling) of internal and external correspondences and budget reports.
- Collect information and assist in the preparation (typing, editing, and assembling) of program reports and applications.
- Collect, organize, and store required reports and financial records for easy retrieval by authorized personnel as required by Jackson State University and the grant programs.
- Handle routine matters related to activities of the office, including answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and performing other duties assigned by the director.
- Manage department inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
