Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving the companys business growth by identifying new business opportunities and enhancing the organizations market position.
This position leads a sales team towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values and establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base.
Essential Functions
Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following:
Create and deploy territory strategies, value propositions, sales processes, and techniques to effectively move prospects through the sales funnel and achieve quota.
Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the companys customer base.Create a business cadence to drive results and provide visibility to all stakeholders.
Build and develop a high performing team of business development representatives to acquire new accounts and penetrate new markets.
Cultivate a results-oriented culture across the business development team, providing leadership and coaching to ensure they meet or exceed their sales objectives.
Mentor and develop sales team members using a supportive and collaborative approach: set objectives, establish priorities, reviewing individual and team action plans, conduct regular ride alongs, and monitor and evaluate results.
Facilitates regular team meetings.Participate as a valued member of the sales leadership team, and collaborate with internal cross functional teams to create value.
Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts and reports on pipeline and target account lists.Tracks sales against budget and maintain profit margin. Develop an in-depth knowledge of DRB Systems core products and utilize this knowledge to successfully lead sales operations.
Works with the R&D and Marketing teams to help develop new offerings for the target market.
Monitors customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Establishes and maintains regular communication with the organizations executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent sales activities.
Willingness to travel (minimum of 8 days per month) and work with small business entrepreneurs.

Proficiency in customer relationship management software and other sales tools

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams
Project Management - Establishes and maintains processes and systems for successful project execution.
Communication - Present ideas and conveys information clearly and effectively through both verbally and through formal / informal documents. Communicates at an appropriate level for the needs of the audience. Understands clearly and quickly when instructions or orders are received.
Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs; Solicits client feedback to improve service; Meets commitments.
Ethics and Values - Adheres to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs during both good and bad times.
Acts in line with those values. Rewards the right values and disapproves of others. Practices what he/she preaches.Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure.
Management of Personnel Resources - Motivates, develops, and directs people as they work, identifies the best people for the job.

Manages at least four regional sales representatives.
Qualifications And Requirements
Education:
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years experience in sales management role required. Proven sales leader experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft operating systems. Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid United States Drivers license
Other Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. Willingness to travel (minimum of 8 days per month) and work with small business entrepreneurs.
