About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA, on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will provide essential local desktop support to approximately 30 users and ensure the smooth operation of our network and server infrastructure, including maintenance of an older Windows 2003 server environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Desktop Support: Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for approximately 30 local users.
- Server Support: Monitor and maintain server performance, including a Windows 2003 server, ensuring the stability and security of the server environment.
- Technical Maintenance: Perform regular system updates, backups, and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing health of IT systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT incidents, resolutions, and changes to the IT environment.
- User Training: Provide guidance and training to users on best practices for using IT systems and software applications.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as an IT Technician, Help Desk Technician, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 2003.
- Familiarity with network and server support, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong customer service orientation and a proactive approach to IT support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+ or similar certification.
- Experience working in a contract or temporary role.
- Prior experience supporting older server environments.
Additional Information:
Work Environment:
This position requires onsite presence in our Pittsburgh, PA office five days a week.
Contract Duration:
The contract is for a period of 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
