Responsibilities

Job Summary
The role of Clinical Application Engineer I involves the management and support of various technology applications, systems, and platforms essential for ongoing business operations, with a primary focus on the Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform. The Clinical Application Engineer I plays a key role in different phases of application software/feature deployments across varied software development life cycle environments, including software upgrades, enhancements, patching activities, and support strategies. This individual acts as the initial contact point for application maintenance and escalations.

  • Develops application and software modifications and feature upgrades to address technological, project, and departmental requirements. Attains a comprehensive understanding of functional specifications for new software and enhancement requests. Collaborates with the Project Management Office and Business Analyst to document and outline functional needs.
  • Offers level 1 support for projects and deployed applications. Possesses technical proficiency in HIE architecture/platform, production troubleshooting methodologies across front-end, service layer, and backend databases, ensuring swift, efficient, and high-quality issue resolutions. Identifies, isolates, and troubleshoots problems, steering the development of solutions.
  • Monitors application performance and implements necessary adjustments. Responds to application failures and conducts regular maintenance on designated applications. Executes routine modifications based on change management protocols.
  • Contributes to resolving day-to-day operational issues, incident requests, tasks, and deadline-driven operational necessities. Proactively suggests preventive actions and fosters coordination among support, system administration, and application teams. Available for on-call duty and after-hours support as required escalation point.
  • Composes and enriches the current knowledge base and other technical troubleshooting documentation.
  • Undertakes any other duties as designated.
