Hawthorne Inn of Lakeland is hiring for 2nd SHIFT, Med-tech, and Resident Aides dedicated to providing top-quality care for residents. The primary role of the RA and Med Tech is to assist residents with daily activities following established procedures under the guidance of the Director of Wellness. WE ARE OFFERING:

  • PRN opportunities with potential for Part-Time and Full-Time roles including benefits like PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and more
  • 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and weekend availability

Qualifications:

  • Weekend availability is mandatory
  • Preferred Med-Tech certification (must be provided during the interview)
  • CPR certification required (must be provided during the interview)
  • Valid Florida ID or driver's license required (must be provided during the interview)
  • Social Security Card or valid work permit required (must be provided during the interview)

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience/ability as a Resident Aide and/or Med Tech with the skill to handle various individuals professionally and courteously.

Requirements:

  • Completion of mandatory in-service hours through facility-provided sessions
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Effective teamwork skills
  • Maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • Compassionate, patient, and positive demeanor
  • Basic typing and computer skills

Duties Include:

  • Monitoring residents
  • Engaging residents in daily conversations and activities
  • Reporting health concerns to the Director of Wellness and Administrator
  • Handing over reports at shift changes
  • Assisting with personal hygiene
  • Meal tray setup and serving
  • Aiding residents and providing nutritional supplements
  • Making beds and maintaining cleanliness in residents' areas
  • Managing residents' laundry
  • Transporting residents within the facility
  • Medication management (certification required)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walk/Stand – continuous walking and standing
  • Environment Conditions – work in varying temperatures
  • Lift – varying weight lifting requirements
  • Carry – varying weight carrying requirements
  • Push – varying weight pushing requirements
  • Bend – frequent bending, including handling weights
  • Squat – occasional squatting, including lifting lighter weights
  • Twist or Rotate – occasional twisting or rotating, including manipulating weights
