Warehouse Operator

SHIFT: 2nd Shift - 2PM - 10:30PM - Monday-Friday

PAY: $23.85 per hour plus $1 differential per hour

SUMMARY:

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. As a Lead Warehouse Operator, you will work with the Warehouse Management team to ensure all day-to-day warehouse functions are performed and executed as required in the course and scope of warehouse operations. The objective of the position is to assist the Management team in the execution of processes, procedures, and initiatives, and to act as Management representatives in their absence. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing system transactions, coordinating shipments and receipts, performing cycle counts, staging and loading outbound trucks, unloading inbound trucks, housekeeping, directing other associates in the performance of their tasks and priorities in a timely, efficient and productive manner, and all other activities and assigned duties related to warehouse operations, inventory management and control as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic to Intermediate computer skills (Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and any WMS system preferred)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Time Management: Showing up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Comprehension: Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Safety: Ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one's co-workers at all times without exception
  • Coordination: Working well with others to meet team goals and adjusting to important changes
  • Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Physical Requirements for production positions regularly include:

  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
  • Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
  • Shift schedules that include days, nights, and weekends, some holidays and periodic overtime
