Essential Duties:

  • Monitors, manages, and oversees the operation and maintenance of a wide range of facility systems, either directing GoRaleigh staff or contractors to ensure proper operation and reliability of all facilities systems.

  • Prepare annual corporate reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of increasingly responsible facility maintenance, Janitorial and/or related field. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain a NC driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and DOT physical exam (includes internal promotions).
  • Acceptable results from DMV and criminal history background checks.

Knowledge Required For the Position:

  • Strong analytical skill and ability to understand financial data.
  • Research skills and the ability to draw information from a variety of sources.
  • Clear concise writing skills and ability to handle long and complex documents.

  • Must be highly organized and committed to accurate record keeping and adherence to prescribed processes, procedures, and regulations

Typical Task May Include:

  • Implement and maintain environmental plans and systems for Leeds certification.
  • Project management and supervising contractors.
  • Calculating and comparing cost for goods and services to achieve maximum value.
  • Directing and planning essential central services like security, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling.
  • Ensuring the facility meets health and safety requirements.
  • Acts as liaison with city, county and state, as it relates to fire, security, and occupational safety.
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
  • Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed services levels and to champion improvements.
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise

Physical Demands:

  • Must read and speak English clearly and possess the ability to see, hear, think, and write clearly.
  • Must be physically able to perform all responsibilities, skills and abilities, including lifting to 75 pounds

The Facilities Supervisor, under the direction of the Director of Facilities will be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance Facility, which covers 25 acres and includes 8 buildings accounting for approximately 135,000 square feet of office, maintenance, vehicle fueling, and vehicle washing uses.

This position will also be responsible for the Go Raleigh Station, Park and Rides, Bus Stops and Paratransit facilities. GoRaleigh operates seven days per week with staff on-site nearly 24 hours per day.
