About the Position:

Are you ready for a thrilling challenge? MITRE is currently looking for a Senior Principal Strategist for Policy and Security to join our Center for Policy and Strategic Competition.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Senior Principal Strategist for Policy and Security, you will need a deep understanding of foreign policy, national and coalition security, and US relations. Your role includes developing innovative solutions, creating engagement strategies, and leading a technical team. You will also liaise with various government communities, senior stakeholders, and industry, while shaping strategies that impact national-level policies and decision-making.

  • Shape the U.S. government's approach to national and economic security integration
  • Engage and plan with senior government officials on critical national and coalition security topics
  • Stay updated on EOP policy priorities and related activities
  • Lead internal research to enhance U.S. competitiveness

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, 10 years with a Master's degree, or PhD with 7 years' experience
  • Experience with EOP policy development and interagency coordination
  • Understanding of strategic competition and national security
  • Program management experience and success in influencing senior government officials
  • Strong connections within the federal policy community
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience advising senior U.S. government officials
  • Expertise in evaluating data for national security objectives
  • Regional knowledge related to China and/or Russia
  • Experience leading policy development within the EOP
  • Demonstrated impact on policy development and implementation
  • Experience creating impactful policy artifacts
